Stunning Sculptures Made from Little Pieces of Driftwood

Created by Doran-Webb, those amazing sculptures looks like they are carved wooden ones but not. Actually they are collections of precisely collected driftwood, gathered by Doran-Webb from the shores of the Philippine island. The driftwood’s seemingly fluid forms, carved by the waves, lend themselves perfectly to the galloping animals’ muscle, hair and feather. Working with driftwood and making sure that each piece matches the overall sculpture, however, is no easy task. Said by Doran-Webb, “Even work with a team of craftmen, it took “some 1,000 to 3,000 hours to make a life size sculpture depending upon the complexities of the armature and anatomy.”
