Using a technology called “computer numerical control(CNC)” – carving machines take a design fed in by a computer and then use sharp tools to whittle a block of material such as wood or metal into the designated form, Japanese creative agency TBWA\Hakuhodo create a series of stunning ice cubes for Japanese whiskey company Suntory as part of a novel advertising campaign. The campaign is called “3d on the Rocks“, which created 15 cubes featuring such designs as a shark, the Statue of Liberty, the diamond ring and the temple. These are said to be the world’s first 3D-milled ice cubes, which looks super realistic with an astounding level of detail. It must be cool to pull whisky or any cold beverage over these miniature ice cube sculptures.
